Marcela Fernandez

Founder and Director  

Marcela Fernández is a graduate of the Victoriano López Music School with a specialty in viola.  She earned her BA in Music Performance with honors from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and her MA from the University of Miami through scholarships.

Her journey has led her to accompany artists such as Gloria Estefan, Chick Corea, Il Volo and Boby Mcferrin in orchestras throughout the USA. While studying, she kept the idea of returning to her country to help and share her musical knowledge. In 2012, she arrived in the city of Miami where she was able to work under the tutelage of Susan Siman at her Simanof Orchestral Foundation. There, she found her passion for music education for low-income children and to wanted to make an impact on them.

In 2015, she returned to Honduras to establish Proyecto Uremu. She is currently the founder and director of the project, she is also the director of the string orchestra at White Dove School, general coordinator of the co-curricular program at that school and director of Harmony Music School. In 2018, she traveled to Vienna, Austria to study a diploma in Social Innovation from the Global School Organization. Likewise, she was awarded by JCI San Pedro Sula for her contribution to music education in the city.

Professor Lila  Villalobos completed his studies at the  School  De Música Victoriano Lopez in 1981. In 1993, he completed his degree  from

Primary Education Teacher at the  School  Normal Cloth. His passion  for education  musical took her to work  as a flute, choir, music language, music appreciation and music pedagogy teacher at the Victoriano Lopez School and the School of Application  musical for more than 15  years. Great Honduran artists have passed through its halls, in which it has left  a brand being this his great legacy.

 

After being away from teaching for a while, he has returned with new energy  to continue teaching his flute, choir and orchestra classes with the students of Proyecto Uremu and the White Dove School.

He began his musical studies at the Victoriano López School of Music at the age of 14, taking the trumpet as his main instrument under the chair of Maestro Roberto Montes. In 2007 he was the winner of the Young Soloists contest held at the Victoriano López.

Throughout his career he has played with great national and international artists such as Guillermo Anderson, Moises Canelo, Eddy Herrera, Juan Carlos Alvarado, Julia Pimentel, Gerardo Reinoso and in different orchestras in San Pedro Sula. He also participated in the 2017 "Instrumenta" International Festival held in Oaxaca, Mexico and in 2018 he was invited to participate with the Rubén Darío Symphony Orchestra of Nicaragua.

Erick vega

Cello Master and Assistant Conductor

He began his musical studies at the Primary School of Musical Application, continuing in 2010 at the Victoriano López School of Music with cello as the main instrument and under the tutelage of the Master  Cheyenne Dominguez. Erick has participated in different musical encounters and received master classes with Masters such as Luis Miguel Rojas, Michigan State University, and Paul Christopher, Northwestern State University of Louisianna.

In 2018 he joined the project as a cello teacher and is in charge of directing the rehearsals by sections of violins, violas and cellos in both nuclei  of the program. In January 2019 he acquired the certificate in  Orchestral conducting awarded by maestro Raul Munguía, conductor of the Pittsburg State University orchestra.

Sergio rivera

Guitar Master   

Singer, Composer and Lawyer. Self-taught guitarist, member of the San Pedro Sula University Choir from 2009 to 2014.  Due to his vocal talent, he received an academic scholarship to complete his studies.

Founder of the alternative rock band sampedrana Alterna in 2013 and singer in the sampedrano rock group Fylo. With both bands he has had the opportunity to participate in different events both in San Pedro Sula and the rest of the country. In 2019, he joined as a guitar teacher in Proyecto Uremu, Chamelecón nucleus.

Leticia Reyes

Teacher  Assistant   

She began her instrumental study of violin in 2015 under the tutelage of director Marcela Fernández, joining as an assistant teacher at Proyecto Uremu in 2016, gaining experience over the years. Participate as a singer in events with the Core Choir Presentation Centeno and Core Primero de Febrero. She has been a piano and violin teacher at Harmony Music School since 2017, in charge of teaching orchestra and music reading classes at White Dove School for two years.

 

In January 2019 he obtained a certificate in Orchestral Conducting awarded by maestro Raúl Munguía, conductor of the Pittsburg State University orchestra. She is an intern for the Bachelor's Degree in Biology at the National Autonomous University of Honduras in the Sula Valley.

Eilyn garcia

Jazz Vocal Teacher

She began her music studies at the age of 12 at the Victoriano López School of Music, where she studied flute under the tutelage of Professor Laura Sierra for 5 years. In 2013 she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Performance and in 2015 a Master's Degree in Music, both from Northwestern State University of Louisiana with a specialty in flute, under the teaching of Dr. Dennette Derbisova McDermott.

 

She received master classes with Dr. Tadeu Coelho (Brazil), Jean Ferrandis (Algeria), Sally Horak (USA). Additionally, she was a winner of the 2012 McCutcheons Honors Recital and the 2011 Northwestern State University Aria / Concerto Competition as a soloist.

 

She has experience teaching flute, music theory, vocal and choir classes to young people of all ages, including university students. In addition, she has performed in choirs, quartets and as a soloist. Additionally, she was part of the Big Band Jazz SPS, Jazsmooth (Jazz fusion) -both originally from San Pedro Sula.

 

In 2017, she joined the UNAH-VS Art Department as a teacher, where she served as Director and Teacher of the UNAH-VS Chamber Choir. In 2021 she began to be part of our team opening the vocal jazz program and flute teacher.

Josue Morales

Percussion Instructor

Josué Morales is a distinguished graduate of the F.R.D.Z. National Conservatory of Music, where he specialized in Percussion, covering a wide range of instruments from the marimba to the triangle, including all the subfamilies of percussion. His academic training has provided him with a solid technical and theoretical foundation, enabling him to master both traditional and contemporary rhythms.

With a profile that combines pedagogical skills with a passion for music, Maestro Morales stands out for his inclusive and adaptive approach, ideal for students at the beginner to intermediate level.

Sergio Rodríguez

Violin, Viola - Advanced Orchestra

Sergio Rodriguez began his musical education at the School of Musical Application, specializing in violin. He continued his studies at the Victoriano López School of Music, reinforcing his specialization. Between 2015 and 2020, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Violin from Maimonides University, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Subsequently, between 2020 and 2023, he specialized in Chamber Music and Orchestra at the University of Lanús. Additionally, he took singing lessons with María Belén Rivarola and participated in Latin American Idol and La Academia. He has been a member of the Central American Symphony Orchestra and stood out in various Argentine musical ensembles.
